Season Passes on sale NOW!

The time has come: Season Passes are on sale now and you know what they say, “Early bird gets the berm!” (Sorry, we couldn’t resist).

Trail crew have been embracing the frosty winter mornings and working hard to get the park in top-notch condition. We can’t quite tell you everything we have planned for the park just yet but there are some epic things on the way and we can’t wait to welcome our bike whānau for opening weekend, September 4th.

When you sign up for a season pass, you sign up for 9 months of epicness. Here’s what you can expect from this season.

World Class Experience

Riding at Bike Glendhu is an experience like none other. You only need to spend half an hour on the hill and you’ll quickly realize the world-class trails and even better views are unlike anything else in the area. If you’ve ever wanted the bike equivalent to Roy’s Peak view, you’ve got to check out Falcon’s Nest. The climb to the top is well worth the effort and you just might find yourself reluctant to leave the views and get into the downhill.

We pride ourselves on our trail quality and work hard to maintain each and every trail so that when we open the gates, we are proud of what we have to offer. You’ll find something for everyone out at Bike Glendhu with trails rated for beginner riders all the way to expert. It’s a place you can come with your mates to unwind and enjoy a few laps, no matter your mtb level.

When you’ve finished putting in the hard yards for the day, you’ll find your favourite comforts down at Base 334. Grab a bean bag and soak up the sun with a cold bevvy and some of Velo’s famous nachos. We have plenty of space for the kids to run around so you can worry less about corralling the troops and focus more on soaking up the beauty of the place we call home.

Nine months of shredding:

We are lucky to live in an area that, by most people’s standards, is pretty pleasant all year round. There are three winter months here in Wānaka where we close our doors and give our trails a rest but the rest of the 9 months? It is on!

Our season kicks off with enough hours for you to make the most of the shorter days and cooler weather and when the time changes, we keep the park open for even longer. During our peak summer months, you’ll find the park open for 12 hours a day from 8 am – 8 pm giving you a full day of fun and entertainment. For full season hours, click here!

No Queues, no blackout periods:

Once we open our doors, season pass holders will be able to ride every day that we are open, even on our busiest days during school holidays. We don’t have any blackout conditions with our season pass purchases so as long as our trails are open, you’re welcome to ride as much as your legs can handle.

You also won’t find any long queues here at Bike Glendhu. The automated gates scan your pass and once you’re through the gates, you’re on your way. Our 35+ km of trails give you plenty of space to ride without feeling crowded. If you pick your times right, you might even feel like you have the entire park to yourself.

20% off van shuttles

Let’s face it, somedays your legs just aren’t up for the pedal but that doesn’t mean you can’t get on your bike. Our van shuttles to Jack’s Spot help you get the big climb out of the way so you’re free to enjoy that downhill bliss. Shuttles are also great for the groms who don’t quite have the leg power to propel themselves up to Jack’s Spot.

This year, we are stoked to announce that season pass holders get 20% off of van shuttles all year long. Use your season passcode to buy online or redeem your discount in person at the ticketing office.

$20 Buddy Pass with a Free Beverage Voucher

Biking is better with friends and we know that sometimes it’s hard to coax a new bike buddy to try a new trail which is why this year, all season pass purchasers will have one discounted buddy pass to giveaway for the season. Redeem your $20 buddy pass and get a free bevvy* from Velo on us as a way to say thanks for spreading that good mountain bike karma. Buddy pass must be used before December 1, 2021.

*T&C’s apply.

New trails coming to Bike Glendhu

We thought we’d plant this one further down the list to make sure you read our other important points but here it is, the moment you’ve all been waiting for!

We are so stoked to announce another 5km of new trails coming to Bike Glendhu with the trail building starting in spring. We can’t tell you too much more at this point but get excited. This new addition will include another signature Bike Glendhu trail starting from Jack’s Spot. If you like Jairolla, you’ll love what we have planned. More details to follow so watch this space.

Investing in our Regenerative Focus

We are excited to hone in and improve our regenerative focus this year at Bike Glendhu with some awesome new practices.

This year, a percentage of every purchase you make at Bike Glendhu will towards our planting promise. We have a lofty and exciting goal of planting 30,000 native plants in the park by 2025 and last year, we gave our riders the option to make a donation but this year, we are making the donation for you. We are excited to get 1,000 more natives in the ground by Earth Day 2022.

Bike Glendhu is fully off the grid. We use that big fiery ball in the sky to power our offices, our ticketing space, our café and our workshop. We try our best not to create much waste by not offering single-use plastics in the café and by not having paper trail maps in our ticketing office. We recycle everything we can and compost all food waste on-site which we eventually use in our garden. For the inevitable waste we do have, we are investing in building good systems that address our waste impact.

When you purchase a pass and ride at Glendhu, you are investing in regenerative tourism. You’re supporting the growth of native trees, reusable energy and a different way of doing things that doesn’t harm the land we occupy. We feel incredibly grateful to occupy this stunning piece of land and we’ll do everything in our power to make sure we not only preserve it but make it better for generations to come.

If you can’t tell, we’re really amped for this season and we hope to see you out here for a ride soon. If you’ve already purchased your season pass, thank you for your support. We can’t wait to open up the gates and share the trails with you. Let the countdown begin. See you in a few weeks!
