Base 334

Base 334 at Bike Glendhu

We couldn’t have a community-focused bike park without an epic base area. Where would everyone share their tips, quips, stories and (probably) very tall tales from the day?

Base 334 is our off-grid hub at Bike Glendhu. Here, you’ll find our ticketing office where you can buy passes, book shuttles and browse apparel and merchandise in our retail space.

You’ll also find our bike rentals and workshop, where the rental team keeps our fleet up to scratch and work on guest bikes. You can also keep your bike dirt-free at the Krush washstation, just around the corner.

Of course, we also have your standard human necessities like parking, lavatories and bike racks.

Last (but definitely not least), is Velo Cafe. Get your pre- and post- rides eats, off-the-chain (pun intended) coffee and thirst-quenching locally crafted beverages. Helloooo après-biking!

Ticketing & Retail

Get the necessities to hit the trail at our ticketing office and retail space. If you haven’t already bought your trail pass online, no worries! Roll into ticketing and grab it on the spot. You can also book shuttles here.

While you’re there, feel free to browse our retail space, chock full of apparel, accessories and protective gear from the best brands in mountain biking. Want to get ahead of the game? You can order the same gear in our online shop.

Rentals & Workshop

At the far end of base, you’ll find the workshop, where the rentals team work away on keeping our rental fleet up to scratch, or working on guest bikes. They’ll probably have some advice for you too – whether you want it or not. Pop in to get sized up for your rental bike (after you’ve booked it at the ticketing office, of course) or if you have any question about how your own bike is working.

Velo Cafe & Beer Garden

Velo Cafe and Beer Garden at Bike Glendhu

Velo, meaning “bike” in latin. Velo Café serves delicious and nutritious free-range eats, all handmade by our in-house head chef; Common Ground coffee, fresh out of Dunedin; and locally brewed craft beers and beverages. Solar-powered and without a takeaway package or cup in sight, Velo Café is just as committed as the rest of Bike Glendhu to an environmentally-focused approach to doing business.

Après-Biking

Apres-biking at Bike Glendhu

You may have heard of après-ski, but who says only those on planks get to have all the fun? Thanks to Velo Cafè, you don’t have to venture back into town to find that enviable post-bike social. Grab a beer, a pie or some nachos and pull up to a table or throw yourself into one of our bean bag chairs on the lawn. Play games, watch the kids race around the pumptrack or just hang out in the sun. Welcome to a new kind of après.
